BenQ Corporation is a Taiwanese company that sells and markets consumer electronics, computing and communications devices under the “BenQ” brand name. Established in 1984, the company was a subsidiary of Acer Inc., initially known as Acer Peripherals Inc.(API), then Acer CM (Communications and Multimedia). It was renamed to BenQ Corp in 2001 and completely separated from Acer in 2006. BenQ Corporation is one of the companies within the BenQ Group, which also includes AU Optronics.

The name reflects their corporate vision: Bringing Enjoyment aNd Quality to life. In September 2007, the company completed the separation of branded and ODM business: New legal entity BenQ Corporation was established to take over the assets and liabilities of the branded business while the original legal entity was renamed “Qisda Corporation,” which comprises BenQ’s manufacturing business.
