Schweppes brand beverages, sold around the world, include a variety of carbonated water and ginger ales. Its marketing campaign made heavy use of an onomatopoeia in their commercials: “Schhhhh…. Schweppes,” after the sound of the gas escaping as one opens the bottle.

Schweppes is currently manufactured by Dr Pepper Snapple Group in the USA. In other countries including the UK and Turkey, it is manufactured by The Coca-Cola Company. In Australia – one of the last markets where Cadbury Schweppes still exists as a joint entity – the parent company Cadbury has signalled intention to sell off the Schweppes brand there also.
