WFP World Food Program is a specialized agency of the United Nations (UN), which distributes food to support development projects, refugees and displaced persons long. It also provides emergency food in case of natural disasters or man. Its headquarters is in Rome, Italy.

The development projects are currently less than 20% of WFP programs because the demand for emergency aid and assistance to refugees. WFP works exclusively with donations of food and money. In 2000, WFP distributed 3.5 million tons of food aid to 80 countries at a cost of 1.7 billion U.S. dollars.
